In 2008, the Global Ocean, “Killed by Plastic” arts project for Salvador Carnaval in Brazil (see Mel’s Blog for details), inspired the artistic creation of a whale made of plastic bottles for Salvador Carnaval 2009.  This project was part funded by Carlinhos Brown and its main remit was to raise awareness about climate change
